PUBLIC NOTICE

The Sauk River Chain of Lakes Association (SRCLA) is planning to do mechanical and chemical treatments of curly-leaf pondweed (CLP) and hybrid watermilfoil (HWM), both invasive species, in select areas on the Sauk River Chain of Lakes in 2026.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has granted the lake association a waiver of the requirement that the association obtain the signatures of approval of lake shore property owners. Instead, the SRCLA will notify property owners of the treatment through this notification and on its website, www.srcl.org.

With regard to the treatment for this year:

  • Treatment will occur between April and October 2026

  • CLP and HWM are the target species

  • Herbicide application using endothall, 2,4-D, flumioxazin, and ProcellaCOR

  • Mechanical removal will be done with an Eco–Harvester

If you desire that a treatment (mechanical or chemical) not occur adjacent to your property, please notify Angie Tomovic, SRCLA Board Member, immediately, either via email angiescribd@gmail.com or mail a note with all the information below to Sauk River Chain of Lakes Association, PO Box 369, Richmond, MN 56368. The deadline to respond is April 1, 2026. Only notify us if you’d like to opt out of treatments. If you don’t want to opt out, you need not do anything. Please note that this does NOT mean that we are treating the frontage of your property.
