NEW AIS FOUND: Help us keep eyes on the Chain!
Purple loosestrife has been identified on a shoreline of the Sauk River Chain during this season’s chainwide point-intercept survey. The known occurrence is limited, making early detection and rapid response especially important. We’re asking shoreline property owners to be on the lookout: check your shoreline, keep an eye on neighboring properties, and know what to look for as you’re out around the Chain.
Prevention and Early Detection and Rapid Response (EDRR) are some of our best strategies for keeping a new invasive species finding from becoming a larger management challenge.
